Both English and Russian medium is available. But for foreign students it is English.

No, it is not mandatory. But to be able to study well and be able to communicate properly with the teachers, applicant should have a good command over the language and speak fluent English.

In Ukraine, students join university after their secondary examination i.e. matriculation equivalent in India. So the 1st year comprises of basic medical related biology, physics and chemistry, along with other medical subjects like anatomy and histology. From 2nd year onwards, it is medical subjects. Yes, the syllabus is exactly the same as in India. Only that the subjects may be taught in different semesters, and not in the ones like India.

Every day, there is a test after the class of what has been taught. And every student must pass it to be able to appear the final exam and module control tests. After you complete all the classes and lectures of a subject, you will get the credit of that subject in your credit book. At the end of each semester, your credit books will be stamped by the dean’s office, only after you get all the credits of that semester.

 

It is basically a test of few related topics of each subject. It occurs in the teaching period itself, no special day is specified for this.

 

Credit book is your progress report. It keeps a record of your performance throughout the year. It is filled by your respective subject teacher at the end of each semester.

 

Well, unlike India, you have to clear all your missed classes and lectures to be able to sit in the final examination. If you have a missed class or lecture, you have to work it off (i.e. study the topics of that day and give the test of that missed class) with your respective teacher. Also, unless your credit book is up-to-date, you won’t be allowed to appear for the final exam.

 

There will be a screening test in Biology and English before admissions. And every student must pass it to be able to get admitted to the college.

 

 

It is basic Biology of standard XI and XII of NCERT textbook and general English required for communication.

 

 

The university provides special preparatory course for teaching local language and subjects like biology, physics, chemistry etc. During this course, students become capable of a fluent conversation in Russian. Apart from this, for regular medicine and dentistry courses, there are specified periods for learning both Russian and Ukrainian languages. Students need not take special extra classes for learning these.

 

 

The university is completely ragging-free zone. In fact there are strict laws against those who disobey this rule. The students sign a pact with the university during the admission that if they break any rule of the university then the university will be bound to take strict actions against them.

 

 

The university has hostel facility for students. Students can opt for a 4-seater room, 2-seater room or single room as per their choice and comfort. All the hostels are equipped with CCTV cameras and are under the close monitoring of respective superintendents.

 

 

Hostels are away from the campus, but not far. Hostels are set up in different areas of the city. All of them are near metro stations for easy communication to the university.

 

 

For a decent life in Ukraine, 100-150 $ per month is good enough. However, every student must try to limit their expenditure within 100$ pm.

 

 

University has various council viz. Sports council; Dramatics council etc. that lets you show your talent. Various sports tournaments and competitions are organised throughout the year for encouraging young mass. Creative writings are also collected from students to publish them in the college journals.

 

 

A brand new Indian mess has been inaugurated near the hostel for students to benefit. It serves breakfast and dinner. For lunch, students can avail food from the canteens present in their respective universities. However, a separate kitchen room with gas burner is provided in every floor of the hostel. Students can opt for cooking food as well and it is absolutely common.

MCI accepts all foreign medical degrees. However, you have to appear for a test after returning India to be eligible to get license.

 

 

In Ukraine, MD degree or Doctor of Medicine is equivalent to the MBBS degree in India. Unlike in India, Ukrainian PG degree is called as Master of Medicine.
