Scheme Introduction: What Is Videsh Shiksha Bruti Scheme?
The Videsh Shiksha Bruti Scheme was introduced to support socially and economically weaker students of Odisha who aspire to study in world-class foreign universities but lack financial resources.
The Government of Odisha has clearly stated that this scholarship is not open to general category students. Only candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities are eligible.
Under this scheme, students who secure admission to Postgraduate or Doctoral programs in QS top-200 ranked global universities will receive generous financial assistance to cover the major costs of overseas education.

Application Cycle & Selection Capacity

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Odisha Videsh Shiksha Bruti Scheme, students must meet all the following conditions:
- Must be a permanent resident of Odisha
- Must belong to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe
- Must have a strong academic record
- Must have already secured admission in a PG or PhD program
- The university must be ranked within QS World University Rankings – Top 200
- Annual family income must be below ₹12 lakh
Students whose family income exceeds ₹12 lakh per year are not eligible for this scholarship.

2. Offline Mode (Under Consideration)
- Students may need to apply through the District Higher Education Office
