The Government of Odisha is implementing a significant initiative for the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students in the state. The new scheme of ‘Bidesh Sikhyabruti’ has enabled the Government to support SC/ST students who are currently studying in the top-ranked institutions of the world after completing their post-graduate and PhD courses in India.The new scheme of ‘Bidesh Sikhyabruti’ has enabled the Government to support SC/ST students who are already pursuing their post graduate and PhD courses from globally top-ranked institutions after completion of their PG/PhD course in India, which was earlier hampered due to financial constraint on many young students who had excellent academic skills.
What is offered by Scheme.
Qualifying criteria: SC/ST students whose family income is not exceeding Rs. 2500/- per month. 12 lakh. The course is offered in the institutes included in the Top 200 in the QS World University Rankings 2027.
- Participants: 50 students throughout the State.
- Last Date: 31st August 2026, through OSS Portal (scholarship.odisha.gov.in)
- Academic Years Covered: 2025-26 and 2026-27
